My parents moved to Beccles in 1971 when I was 14 and have lived in the town ever since. I moved away to go to university but moved back with my business, Kulture Shock, some 9 years ago. I live with my partner in the centre of Beccles and want to do more for the town we live in. As such, I not only live in Beccles but I also have a business here. I have a fondness for the town and its many facets. It has kept many of the old English market town features but has benefited from an influx of new blood. People who have holidayed on the broads return to the town time and time again, while others liked it so much they have moved here. Beccles is a great town to bring up a young family and a great town in which to retire. It is that middle ground that needs to be addressed. Beccles needs more facilities. The upgrade of the train line to hourly service, and the development of facilities at the train station is a start. A more sensible approach to parking so we can encourage tourism and visitors to the town is needed, and so much more needs to be done. For instance I would love to see a cinema and a leisure centre and a more comprehensive programme of entertainment in general.
I strongly believe that there is no place for national party politics in Beccles. The town council should be run in the interests of Beccles for the people and businesses in Beccles.Contact Details 38-40 Blyburgate BECCLES NR34 9TF Tel: 01502 797797
