Beccles This Christmas Time

This year the streets of Beccles will be packed with shoppers enjoying the traditional start of the Christmas season. The shops in the main area of town plus many other shops in the surrounding areas, including Blyburgate, Hungate and Smallgate will be open until late as well as the surrounding streets packed with stalls selling seasonal gifts, novelties, decorations and food. Twyfords will be amongst those serving their famous traditional ‘Festive Baguette’ to the shoppers, as well as other stalls selling mince pies, mulled wine and hot chestnuts. Stocks Fun fair rides will also be bringing along some of their most popular rides to entertain visitors of all ages.

The Beccles Business Association and Beccles Town Council are very excited by this years plans. Now in it’s seventh year the Annual Christmas Late Night Shopping Event will be the biggest yet with thousands gathering to see Beccles at it’s best.

This year The Beach's Paul Carter, Tim Lindon, The Beach Patrols and Bunny will be hosting a special roadshow on the main stage and will be joined by a special celebrity guest – watch this space for more details!

There will be live entertainment for all ages with the Suffolk Samba Band, Loddon Brass Brand, Christian Youth Fellowship, and the Salvation Army entertaining visitors around the closed off areas. St Michael's Church will be open on the night and will be serving hot food and hosting a wide variety of stalls. Hungate Church will be staging it’s annual Christmas Tree Festival. Santa has also been invited and will be making an appearance in this very special Market Town that night.

All parking will be free in WDC car parks from 3.30pm And with ‘real’ snow promised to fall that night who could ask for more for a perfect start to the festive season.
