The
Woodlark Trust
The only place available for young people in this area where they
are provided with a stimulating home, is in Colchester and can only
house 18 people. Tragically there are 8000 people with brain injuries.
Spurred on by this Mrs Thwaites and her daughter Helen are hoping
to raise £5 million to enable a unit like the one in Colchester
to be built in Suffolk. If you are able to help with fund raising
or in any other way, PLEASE contact Mrs Thwaites on 01502 714161.
The Slippers
Band
The Slippers play 1930’s music using the classic 1960’s
instrumentation of 3 electric guitars and drums. The strong material
and signature guitar sound give The Slippers a chance to bring something
new to tunes sometimes claiming to be swing revival but often overplayed
with nostalgia or parody.

Maggie
Walters Art Work
Local Artist
My name is Maggie Walters and I love to paint. I have been drawing
and painting since I was a child. Until this year I have only been
able to pursue my art as a part time hobby.
Whilst learning which I think I will always be doing, my work has
changed from one medium to another, until 9 months ago, when I discovered
Pastels.
The feeling I get when the colours blend together and an image emerges
resulting in the art work being completed, I can only describe as
one of my greatest joys.
I have gained so much from others sharing their art experience and
knowledge with me and I hope that you will take pleasure in viewing
the art work on show and share your experiences with others.

of styles from realism to abstract due to my training and experience

for reference which can be sent via email or around thoughts and
ideas or if you would like to discuss one of my paintings and would
like something similar, then a commission is the perfect answer.
Each painting is unique in it's own right and can be designed to
compliment your decor and even your personality. Whether it be for
a single or series of paintings for home or business. I am willing
to discuss your requirements with no obligation.
Waveney
Strings
Waveney Strings has been set up to provide a friendly and supportive
environment in which string players can improve their skills and,
at the same time, enjoy making music. A wide range of ability is
accepted although some grounding would be useful. Ideal if you had
lessons at school and the violin is collecting dust in the attic.
There are opportunities for one to one tuition and the orchestra
meets regularly on Sundays. We aim to play any music that is reasonably
accessible and has been arranged for string ensemble. Recent pieces
have included Dinderin, a Spanish folk tune, Rondo from Purcell's
Faery Queen, Basse Danse from Capriol Suite by Peter Warlock, The
Largo from Corelli's Christmas Concerto and Rondo alla Turca by
Hummel. We also encourage people to get together informally in their
own homes to play chamber music.

Hailing from the rural north Suffolk town of Beccles, Plan Nine
was formed in early 2005 by four restless young men from the local
comprehensive.
Having won the hearts of the local children with hits from their
self-released EP, Plan Nine's 'Plan Nine', including the smash Tunin'
Up (Wiv U), the boys took their defenestrative sound to the cobbled
streets of Norwich. Whilst wooing the Wensum folk of this historic
burgh they played with such acts as Rooster and Grammatics at venues
including the Waterfront and NAC.
On March 17th 2008 Plan Nine's official debut release, controversially
titled The Plan Nine EP, was unleashed to the world via the download
function of the Interweb to staggeringly mediocre success.
Throughout the rest of the year the boys found themselves climbing
the slippery ladder of London (England) gracing venues such as the
Barfly and Purple Turtle, and opening to the thousand-strong crowd
at the Stone Gods' homecoming in Norfolk.
In February 2009 drummer Dave Jones left the band citing "musical
differences". After going dark for a short while, the band
returned to the stage with a dramatic new sound and announced that
Ben Timewell would be the new drummer.
Plan Nine are currently recording a new record, said to be "the
most important record of all time, ever, from Beccles!".
