The volunteers on the Community Car service have been
working exceptionally hard in the first six months of
2008 and between the 38 drivers we have driven over 151,000
miles. Over 60% of these miles has involved getting people
to day centres and work shops who would otherwise be isolated
in their homes.
The demand for transport to hospitals has increased by
over 30% - which may be due to the difficulties people
now experience in getting hospital cars and the problems
faced by using public transport to get to the hospitals.
Thanks to our volunteers over 300 journeys have been undertaken
taking people to their appointments and for treatment.
Thanks to our local health centres we have been able to
subsidise these runs ensuring affordable transport.
Our Aims

work generally.

not already covered by existing organisations.
